About
I have been practicing meditation for many years. I began with Christian meditation and later learned mindfulness meditation as I struggled with focus. Mindfulness is a skill for life and can totally change your relationship with your thoughts. My mind is calmer and more able to focus on what is important. My confidence has grown as has my ability to focus and get things done. An unexpected bonus is that I have become kinder and more compassionate.
I have been teaching mindfulness for several years and wanted to train more formally. I qualified with Mindfulness Now in 2021 and use their material in my teaching. The programme offers mindfulness as a skill for life and the teaching can be easily tailored to suit the individual pupil. I participate in regular supervision and CPD courses.
I adore sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for mindfulness with others and I would love to help you learn this life changing skill. Do contact me for a free, no obligation, chat to see how learning mindfulness can benefit you right now.
Practicing mindfulness regularly has been scientifically proven to change the brain and help with reducing anxiety, building self-compassion and empathy, improving sleep, improving quality of life for people with asthma, chronic pain and many other conditions. CBT and mindfulness is available on the NHS as it is known to reduce relapse into depression.
You can learn mindfulness from apps or books or CD's but you can't beat learning in person and being able to discuss your understanding as you progress.

If you want to find out more about the scientific evidence there is plenty available on the internet. Search using Google Scholar or PubMed, enter search terms such as 'mindfulness and asthma' or mindfulness and your particular issue.
There are lots of books on mindfulness and I recommend the following: Full catastrophe living by Jon Kabat-Zinn; Finding peace in a frantic world by Mark Williams and Danny Penman; The mindful way through depression by Mark Williams, John Teasdale, Zindel Segal and Jon Kabat-Zinn; The mindful path to self-compassion by Christopher Germer; Mindfulness for health by Vidyamala Burch and Danny Penman and The miracle of mindfulness by Thich Nhat Hanh. Some of these include CD's of guided meditations.
